Faxon is not a good barrel company IMO. Granted it's a sample size of 2 but still both bad barrels. I like criterion as a first choice these days and my daniel defense barrels have always been accurate and long lasting. The only barrels that they make with decent accuracy are their much heavier profiles. CO B, I have several of both, Faxon and Ballistic Advantage. Both are very good barrels, and neither pick will leave you wishing that you'd done the other. The Faxons are the 16" 5.56 Pencil Barrel, 16" midlength .308 Win barrel, and the 18" midlength gas Grendel barrel. All those barrels are fantastic.

Have a BA and Faxon in 9mm. They're boring to shoot at the range. The RO asked do you get tired of shooting the same hole. Personally I love Faxon, my shooting buddy loves BA. I base my make my choice more on the profiles and thread pitch more tan anything else. Some are straight, some taper etc etc.

A Faxon or Ballistic Advantage on sale cane be had for around $100. Even if the barrel only last a few thousand less than a CL barrel the nitride barrel is better choice in the end from a cost for the life of the barrel. Both options are still good though.
